Inundaciones causadas por el paso del Huracán Iota en Nicaragua.

How to donate from abroad to those affected by hurricanes Iota and Eta in Nicaragua?

Nicaragua has been hit by two powerful hurricanes in less than 15 days. On November 3, Category 4 Hurricane Eta hit the North Caribbean Coast, where it left severe damage; the rains and strong winds from this cyclone also affected the northern and central areas of the country. Just 13 days later, Category 5 Hurricane Iota , the strongest recorded this year in the Atlantic, made landfall in Nicaragua with “torrential rains and catastrophic winds,” according to a report from the United States National Hurricane Center.

After the passage of Eta, Nicaraguan authorities indicated that at least  2 million people were exposed by this cyclone, especially in the North Caribbean Coast, the Mining Triangle, Nueva Segovia, Jinotega and Chinandega. More than 70,000 people were evacuated.

World Vision Nicaragua, as a Christian humanitarian aid organization, has established a Response Committee to bring support to children and their families who have been affected by these hurricanes.

The World Vision Response Plan aims to reach, with the support of partners and donors, some 56,400 people, that is, 5,400 families in municipalities where we are present and 4,000 families in the North Caribbean Coast, where the damage is still to be quantified by the lack of energy and the poor telephone connection with the area.
